Nong Shim - Korea - Hot & Spicy Flavour Nong Shim - Korea - Hot & Spicy Flavour Cooked

Review: Nong Shim is the most popular Korean brand for instant noodles. The circular noodle cake separated well after 3 minutes, the loose dried vegetable flakes add appeal, while the flavour sachet dissolved completely. One big flavour sachet is employed by Nong Shim for this Bowl Noodle Soup.

Never underestimate the Koreans when it comes to spicy food. From the first time the noodle hits your lips you will feel the chilli burn. A sensation that lets you know that you are eating very spicy noodle soup. The noodle is very soft for a bowl variety and slides easily down the gullet without need for much chewing, and if you do decide to chew, it seems as though the noodle can predict this and forms itself into smaller strips almost effortlessly. If you use the whole flavour sachet, beware, as this soup is extremely spicy. It takes a lot of effort to finish the broth, as you make your way down, it seems to get hotter and hotter (due to less chilli being dissolved). After completely drinking the broth, you should have a great sense of accomplishment.

i agree! it’s delicious! esp. with some
vegetables and slices of beef. the noodles
are great and the spiciness will make you
crave for it esp. during cold days.

try the ones that comes in a package instead of a cup. i think the noodles are a bit different. haven’t had the cup ones yet…but the ones in the package takes 5 minutes to get ready and they are thicker (2-3X) than most ramen noodles i have ever tried.

I had this for dinner last night, all the reviews seem to be missing the crucial element of this ramen: THE CRAZY SHRIMP SWIRL. That little pink and white disc that tastes sort of like shrimp, you know? Couldn’t get my boyfriend to eat it. It was weird but not bad. The level of spiciness in this bowl was excellent. Too bad I laughed while I was eating it, burning all the nerves out of my nose and getting a noodle lodged somewhere in my sinuses. Ha!

I’m in love with this brand. I live in the Philippines and I always buy it on the supermarket. Glad we have it here as well.

Surprisingly, this is one spicy/hot noodle that I can actually consume (for sake of comparison, kimchi is too hot). I do not drink the broth though.

I’m convinced there’s some sort of addictive chemical in this noodle bowl, since after having one within 30-45 minutes I want another. This can go on for hours. Consumer beware! πŸ™‚

I’m not too fond of the mushrooms in it, but otherwise it’s delicious. It comes out quite good even via microwave, which is impressive given the simplicity of the preparation instructions.

Wow these are good! But drinking the soup after the noodles have been consumed actually hurts as it is that strong. I had to endure tho, and in the end I was victorious for a ninja warrior total victory!

this is the most satisfying bowl of ramen noodles i have ever tasted! i get them cheap at 88 cents a pop and while they ARE hot they are not the hottest thing i have eaten. if you really want to test your tolerance for spicy then try some habanero sauce on a hamburger or mix some in with spagetti sauce.Note: NEVER i mean NEVER use more then what would cover you pinky nail, hell thats too much to begin with i cant think of an ammount of something small enough to explain how hot this stuff is but people have died from eating more then they can hadle.)
